It’s that time of year, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is finally here! While I haven’t found many clothing items I love as part of the sale, I did notice they had some of our favorite baby and toddler items this year. I’m sharing some of our tried and true favorites below. Most of these items are on the more expensive side, so if you have your eye on them, buying them while they are on sale is the way to go!
UPPAbaby VISTA Stroller System

We LOVE our UPPAbaby stroller system! We bought the stroller with the bassinet attachment before our first baby was born with plans to use it as a double stroller when we had a second. Now that we have two kids, and have purchased the additional RumbleSeat, I’m happy to report it works great! The bassinet feature is great for babies to stretch out on their backs or sleep instead of being stuck in a car seat for long walks or dinners out. The basket is huge on the bottom and I can usually just take the stroller into the store instead of having to grab a hand basket. I know some people don’t like a larger stroller and it’s a bit heavier but I don’t mind that as the convenience of being able to push it through a single door while both kids are in it overrides that for me.
Nuna Car Seats

I did a lot of research on car seats before our oldest child was born and we ended up with a Nuna infant seat. The Nuna safety ratings and non toxic materials used to make it made the brand a top pick for me. Being able to slide the infant seat into a base and then remove it easily when needed was important to me as well. It’s also nice that the seat can be used without the base if you need to buckle it into another vehicle for a short period of time. We loved the infant seat so much that when it was time to move our daughter to a “big girl” car seat we stuck with Nuna and chose the Nuna Rava. The Rava is so comfortable for our daughter and I feel good about the safety aspects of it.
BabyBjorn Bouncer and Carrier

The BabyBjorn bouncer is one of my very top picks for anyone having a baby. I opted out of a baby swing entirely but still wanted to have a place to set baby down safely. I didn’t want a swing with artificial “rocking” motions as I didn’t want my baby to get used to the movement and then always need it to be soothed. This bouncer is so lightweight and easy to carry room to room, you can leave it upright or lean it back for quick naps, and as your baby gets bigger their movements make it move so they can learn to soothe themselves. Nordstrom has two bundle options this year, one with the carrier and one with the toy. We don’t have the toy for the front of the bouncer but I can definitely see it helping to keep your baby entertained while you shower or make dinner. We also bought the BabyBjorn carrier that comes with the bundle for our first child and we are still using it with our second. I love that it’s neutral and both my husband and I can wear it comfortably. It’s easy and quick to put on and feels very secure. It’s held up so well over the last few years and still looks like new!
Solly Baby Wrap

Another one of my top baby recommendations to new moms is a Solly baby wrap. As much as I like the structured carriers for long term carrying, there is something so nice about snuggling your baby up close to your chest. I wear this wrap a lot around the house and for errands that I know I need her to stay calm during. This is my secret weapon because it’s guaranteed to soothe my baby to sleep when she’s being fussy. Being able to tie it to the correct size for your body and adjust it as tight or loose as you want it is another big plus that structured carriers usually don’t provide. It may take a few tries to learn to tie it but I watched the video of how to put it on a few times and now I’m a pro at it!
Toniebox

My 2.5 year old daughter’s favorite toy has to be the Toniebox. We listen to this thing from the time we wake up until she goes to bed. You can buy so many different Tonies and they all have different songs and stories. It’s a great screen free alternative and I swear my daughter has learned so much from hers. She sings along to songs and I notice she is learning different words just from listening. My husband and I both find ourselves singing along to the songs because we have heard them so many times! We have the original Toniebox but the newest version available in the Nordstrom sale allows you to play games with it as well.
Little Giraffe Baby Blanket

We were gifted this blanket for our first baby and it’s SO soft! We keep it in the living room so our daughter’s have a blanket that is their size nearby in case they want to cozy up. They make perfect gifts for a new baby and come in a few different colors. Definitely grab this one while it’s on sale!
