It’s a new month and time for another post of my favorite things. May favorites, woop woop! (yes, I am embarrassing)I can’t believe it’s already June and I’m sharing my May favorites! The year is nearly half over and I’ve been on this blogging journey for almost half a year as well! I’m so excited to share my favorites with you because they are SO good! I know you all will love them as much as I do.
Book: The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine
This was definitely my favorite book I “read” in May. I say “read” because I actually listened to the audiobook. It had been on my reading list for a while and I knew I wasn’t going to get the physical copy from the library any time soon. Luckily, the library got a digital copy to me pretty quickly and I think it only took me a couple of days to get through it. I listened at work and on my commute every day. The first half of the book follows Amber Patterson, a woman who is tired of her plain life and feels she deserves to be rich and powerful. The second half follows Daphne Parrish, the rich wife of a real estate mogul husband. Amber and Daphne’s lives intertwine causing some major drama and this thriller has so many crazy twists and turns. While ultimately I guessed the big plot twist, it was such a fun read and I definitely recommend it to anyone who loves a good thriller!
Beauty: Ardell Magnetic Lashes
I have been loving my magnetic lashes! I only wear them when I take photos or am getting really dressed up, not as everyday wear, but they have been holding up so well! They add just a bit of drama to my eye makeup and they don’t feel too heavy. Sometimes I miss my lash extensions and these make up for it, except I can take them off and rub my eyes or sleep on my stomach! Ha!
Style: Aerie Short Sleeve Sweatshirt
Since Portland still has some cold rainy days in between the super hot days, you never entirely put away your winter clothes. This short sleeve sweatshirt is so perfect for the chilly summer nights when you want something warm on your shoulders. It looks cute with jeans or shorts and you could even throw it on over a dress! I love the yellow color that I have but it looks like it’s sold out. BUT they have a bunch of other cute colors and right now they are only $15! Such a steal!
TV Show: Mindhunter
My boyfriend and I rarely agree on tv shows or movies. We like entirely different kinds so finding a show we can watch together is a bit difficult. We both do agree though that crime/thriller type shows we can watch together. I had heard that Mindhunter was really good but it still took us forever to actually start it. So far we are really enjoying it though! I love that it is set in the 70’s and that it includes real serial killers (well, actors playing them!) and their stories. It’s super fascinating! It’s basically about two detectives who are interviewing and trying to get into the mind of serial killers in order to learn how to stop crimes before they happen.
Nail Polish: Essie in Boom Boom Room
For Spring, I usually stick to coral for my toenails but last month I decided I really wanted to go for a nice bright Barbie pink. So I dug through my polish collection and found the PERFECT pink. It’s called Boom Boom Room by Essie and it seems they don’t sell it anymore? Such a bummer because it is beautiful! It’s all I’ve used on my toes for the whole month of May. I did find a color that looks really similar to it though, it’s Zoya polish in the color Shelby. I have a feeling I’m going to continue wearing it through June because I’m still not tired of it! Might even get crazy and put it on my nails! 😉 We will see!
I hope you all enjoy these favorites posts as much as I enjoy putting them together! It’s so interesting for me to go back and see what I really loved during the previous months! I hope your week is off to a great start!
