I don’t typically wear a full face of makeup every single day. I work in a very casual setting surrounded by the same people daily so I usually just use some concealer and fill in my eyebrows. On the weekends or if we are going out somewhere I will usually do my full face of makeup. I think I just dread taking eye makeup off at the end of the day! Haha. It’s my least favorite part of getting ready for bed but I can’t sleep with makeup on my face. Today I thought I would share with you all what my go-to everyday makeup products are. Most of these I have used for years but I like to switch them out here and there to see if I find something I like more. Many of these can be found at the drugstore for great prices as well! These are all what I would consider my makeup favorites!
NYX BB Cream
Since I’m not a big fan of foundation, I like to wear something lighter on my face. This BB cream is really nice but the one thing I wish it had was SPF. When I wear this, I mix it with a face sunscreen so that I get coverage and SPF all in one. My main issue with my skin is that I have redness in my cheeks so I like just using something that evens out my skin tone. I’ve been using this BB cream in the shade Natural for a few years but I am looking to also try something that maybe already incorporates the SPF. This is a great BB cream for the price and since I don’t wear it super often, I didn’t want to pay too much.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer
This is a product that I wear every day because let’s be honest, no matter how much sleep I get those dark circles are here to stay! I actually use this stuff to dot on any pimples or redness on my face to even out my skin too. It’s my daily lifesaver, really. I use the color Fair since I have very fair skin but it also works in the Summer too since it’s supposed to be a brightener.
Benefit CORALista Blush
CORALista has been my go to blush for years. Since high school really. It’s such a beautiful shade and coral really does look good on all skin tones. Although I don’t do a lot of contouring or bronzer, I like to have a little bit of blush on my cheeks to give it a little extra something. Otherwise my skin is just all one color with the BB cream.
Covergirl Easy Breezy Brow Pencil
I just started using this brow pencil this year but so far I am hooked. It is self sharpening which I love because I used to use a pencil and I hate having to sharpen every day. I use the shade Rich Brown since I have super dark eyebrows. I just brush this on in small strokes to fill in the areas of my brows that are sparse. The other side has a little spooly you can use to brush through before and after you apply the product. I don’t line out my brows perfectly, I’m more of a natural brow kind of gal so this makes it so easy for me to keep my brows looking good every day.
Urban Decay Naked2 Palette
As you can probably tell from my photos, I am not a super skilled makeup artist. I really stick with the basics and am terrible about branching out. When it comes to eyeshadow, I’ll be honest, I really don’t know what I’m doing! But the good news is, this palette makes me feel like I do! The colors are all so beautiful and they go together really well. It’s almost fool proof! My favorite shades are Bootycall, Tease, Suspect, and Busted. I use them the most. If I need to take my daytime makeup into nighttime, I’ll usually add some of Blackout to the corners and blend in to darken my eyeshadow. I love that this palette is full of good neutrals that go with everything.
Covergirl Perfect Point Plus Eyeliner
You might be shocked to know that I’ve been using the same eyeliner for over 10 years. Mostly, it’s because I love the style of it. The eyeliner is like a creamy pencil that is self sharpening which means I always have a good tip to work with. It isn’t necessarily non-smudging but I tend to wear a setting spray when I do my makeup so I really don’t have many issues with my eyeliner coming off. I use this only on the top of my lash line and then extend a little past the corners in a bit of a cat eye style.
Covergirl LashBlast Volume Mascara
Over the years I have tried SO MANY mascaras. Seriously, so many. I’d buy high end, drugstore, you name it. I found I was always so disappointed with high end mascaras and found myself coming back to this one over and over again. This is the only mascara that gives me length and volume and I wear it in the Very Black shade. However, I only use the waterproof formula. I find that non-waterproof mascara makes my lashes stick straight, whether or not I curl them. With this mascara, I can curl my lashes and the waterproof formula holds it so well. I continue to try other mascaras just for fun but I have yet to come across something that comes even close to my love for this one!
Now that I’ve shared my makeup favorites with you, what are some of your makeup favorites? Even though I have my go-to products, I’m always curious to try others to see if I find something I like more. I definitely want to try some higher end BB cream and concealer so I’d love to hear any recommendations from you!
